MacKIE, Gordon Lawrence 1922-2004 (Professional Engineer Retired - Ford Motor Company of Canada, Member of Golden 'K' Orillia, Active with the Orillia Lawn Bowling Club) Passed away peacefully at his home, with his family by his side on Thursday, August 26th, 2004, in his 83rd year. Gordon MacKie, of Jarratt, beloved husband of the late Jean Best. Dearly loved friend and companion of Audrey Best. Loving father of Linda and her husband Raul, Janice and her husband Jim and Kathy and her husband Doug. Dear grandfather of Claudia and her husband Miguel, Cintia and her husband Daniel, Neal Kuellmer, Kevin and Heather McCarthy and the late Galen Kuellmer. Great grandfather of Salvador, Elena and Nina. The family would like to thank the very kind staff of the Community Care Access Centre for all their support over the last few months. Friends will be received at the Doolittle-Carson Funeral Home, 54 Coldwater Street East, Orillia (705) 326-3595, on Monday, August 30th from 2-4 and from 7-9pm and Tuesday, August 31st from 12-1pm. A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the Chapel on Tuesday, August 31st at 1pm. Cremation to follow with interment at St. Andrew's St. James Cemetery, Orillia, at a later date. If desired, memorial donations to the Council of Canadians, Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital Foundation or Bloorview MacMillan Children's Centre Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
