GIRARD, Leonard 90 years, Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004 at La Chaumiere Rest Home. Beloved husband of the late Cecelia (nee Ladouceur). Dear father of Corine Goldfinch and husband Robert, Gerald Girard, Stanley Girard and wife Donna, Richard Girard and wife Shirley, Claudette Rooger and husband Henry. Also survived by 19 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Len farmed all his life in the Belle River area and was a Funeral Assistant to Fergus Melady for many years. He was a member of the K of C, Council 2775 Belle River. Visiting Friday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral procession leaves Saturday, Sept. 4, 2004 at 12:30 p.m. from Melady Funeral Home, 572 Notre Dame St., Belle River, 728-1500 to St. Simon and St. Jude Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. Parish prayers Friday at 4:30 p.m. Interment St. Simon & St. Jude Cemetery. A tree will be planted in memory of Melady in the Melady Heritage Forest. A dedication service will be held September 2005. All are welcome. Published in the Windsor Star on 9/3/2004
