CHARTRAND, Sylvio - We regret to announce the death of Sylvio Chartrand on Tuesday, April 1 at the Timmins & District Hospital at the age of 81. He is survived by his spouse Thérèse of Kapuskasing; two sons Yvon companion of Brigitte of Cochrane and Gilbert of Kapuskasing; one daughter, Gaëtanne Chartrand wife of Raymond of Kapuskasing, three sisters, Rhéa Foisy and Jeannine Fleury all of Timmins and Marie-Claire Menard-Demers of Gatineau; one brother, Réjean Chartrand of Timmins; as well as four grandchildren, Julie, Alain, Liana and Joey. He was predeceased by four infant children, Lorraine, André, Mona and Luc; two sisters, Reine-Aimée Boutin and Oriance Portugie and one brother, Germain Chartrand. The funeral service was held on Saturday, April 5 at 11:00 a.m. at the Immaculée- Conception church with Father Gilles Gosselin officiating. Cremation to follow at Hillcrest crematorium. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Timmins & District Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
