BUTIHEN, Ronnie Legarde April 16, 1974 September 21 2004. Passed away suddenly at University Hospital, London due to heart complications during a liver transplant, he was 30 years old. Beloved and only son of Pedrito (Peter) Butihen and Herminia (Legarde) Butihen. Only sibling and awesome big brother to Florence. Grandson of Lola Celerina and the late Ananias Legarde and the late Flora and Narciso Butihen all of the Philippines. Loving nephew of Rudy and Eva Butihen of Toronto, Indalecio and Elizabeth Legarde of the Philippines, Mario and Emily Lizada of Australia, Rev. Norbert Leyrita of Michigan, Eulamy Lizada of West Palm Beach Florida, Renato and Janevie Losanes of Guelph, and family, Cecilia Leonida of Windsor, Florencia Leda of Chicago, Caridad Losanes of Chicago. Cousin to Mark Butihen of Toronto, Dr. Marbe and Jake Alojepan of the Philippines, Jake and John Lacuesta, Ali, Aldrin, Allen, Alan, Ann Ann of the Philippines. Ron will be greatly missed by countless cousins, aunts and uncles in Canada, the United States, the Philippines, Australia, and Hawaii. Ron will also be greatly missed by his friends, D.J.C., Edwin M., Joel S., Vince L. and Dan Dan C., Sash, Scottie, and Adam and countless others. Ron was an avid basketball player and loved martial arts. He attended Marlborough Public Grade School, Assumption College High School, and St. Clair College where he was a member of the varsity basket ball team for 3 years. He was also a member of the Katilingban Sang Ilongo. If you so desire, donations to the Canadian Liver Foundation or the Red Cross would be appreciated by the family. Visiting Thursday 3-5p.m. and 7-9p.m. and Friday 2-5p.m. and 7-9p.m. Prayers Friday 8:15p.m. Funeral Saturday 9:30a.m. from Families First Funeral Home & Chapel (969-5841) 2670 Dougall Ave. to Our Lady of Perpetual Help for Mass at 10:00a.m. Cremation to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Ronnie's cremated remains will return to his birth place in the Philippines. The family would like to express their heart felt thanks to the Paramedics in Windsor, to nurses at Hotel Dieu Hospital, especially Bernadette Frias, the transplant team, liver donor and liver specialists at University Hospital in London.
