GORDON, Charles V. Sr. Peacefully in his 92nd year, with dignity and humour, on October 8, 2004 at Central Park Lodge in Windsor. Predeceased by his loving wives Eileen (McConnell) (1980), and Margaret (Miller) (2002). Tragically predeceased by his first born child, Charles Jr. (1949) from Leukemia at 8 years of age. Survived by loving sons Tom of Windsor, and Doug and wife Carol of Stouffville. Loving grandchildren are as follows: Tom's children - Charles III and his wife Stephanie, and Rachelle, all of Toronto, and Doug and Carol's children - David and his wife Iryna of Vancouver and Michael and his wife Emilia of Palo Alto, California. Charles is survived by one great-grandchild, Charles and Stephanie's beautiful 1 year old daughter Chloe. Also survived by brother Don and his wife Dolores of Windsor. Predeceased by sister Mildred Lawrence (1988). Also survived by step-daughters Patricia Miller (Duff Walker) of Val Caron, ON, Elaine Youngson (Art) of Lasalle, and Marilyn Miller (Ken Hanna) of Richmond, B.C. Charlie loved his family, his friends, his community, his church, his hobbies, and travelling. He spent his entire 44 year working career at Hiram Walker's & Sons Ltd., retiring in 1977 as a department manager. Charlie was very active in community service. He was the founding president of both the Windsor Junior Chamber of Commerce and Junior Achievement of Canada. He also served terms as president of the Art Gallery of windsor, of the Windsor Symphony Society, and the Windsor Chamber of Commerce. Charlie was an elder at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church for over 55 years. He was also a member and Senator of Beach Grove Golf and Country Club. Visiting at the Walter D. Kelly Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 1969 Wyandotte St. E. on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 405 Victoria Avenue, on Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at 11:00 a.m., the Rev. Dr. Jeff Loach officiating. Interment to follow at Victoria Memorial Gardens. Donations in tribute to Charlie may be made to the charity of your choice. We, the family, would like to extend our sincere, deep appreciation to the staff and management of Central Park Lodge for their outstanding and compassionate care of Charles as he ended his long wonderful journey in life.
