WARK, Barbara 2008-06-13 WARK Mrs. Barbara Wark, age 68 years of Thunder Bay, passed away peacefully at Thunder Bay Health Sciences Centre on June 12, 2008. Born on May 24, 1940, Barb grew up in Hymers on the Whitefish River. She later attended Fort William Collegiate and Teacher‘s College before marrying David in 1962. Shortly after, they moved to Kenora where she taught in Keewatin. Then, in 1970, Barb and Dave returned to Thunder Bay where they raised their three children. After studying and practicing naturopathic health, Barb became known affectionately as “Dr. Barb” to many. She treasured her time with family and friends. Her joys included cooking, picnics, travel, growing orchids, gardening, photography, and playing with and snuggling her grandkids. Barb had such a vibrant and exuberant personality that no matter where her quest for knowledge led her, her enthusiasm was contagious. She also regularly enjoyed sharing her awe in the beauty of nature with others. Barb‘s compassion for others and a strong belief in leading a healthy, active life led her to help others through their medical and emotional struggles. Those she helped quickly became her friends and an extension of her family. Remaining to forever cherish memories of Barb are her husband David (married 46 years), son Chris (Drynda), daughters Pam (John) Colledanchise and Kim (Mike Hopkins), grandchildren Brendan, Kayla, Matthew, Nathan, Aiden, Cole, Austin and Jasmine, sister Beau (Stuart) Parker, brother-in-law Jerry (Glenda) as well as many other relatives and friends. A celebration of Barb‘s life will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, June 18th, 2008 at the Church of Christ on the corner of Redwood Ave. and Edward St. A reception will follow at the DaVinci Centre in the Michelangelo Room. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made through www.nwfainc.com
