Dot Archibald SALISBURY, NS - Dorothy (Dot) Catherine Archibald, 73, of Salisbury, NB, passed away Saturday, October 9 , 2004 at the Moncton Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Moncton she was a daughter of the late Frank and Ethel (Thomas) Blakney. Dot was a retired employee of Canada Post and in retirement she opened the doors of her home as the owner-operator of Salisbury Bed and Breakfast, where many a weary traveler enjoyed her hospitality. Dot had a zest for life which was evident to anyone who knew her. She taught country line dancing, created the Cadillac Ranch Dancers and was part of the Mud River Cloggers. She also operated the House of Clay Ceramics in her home. She will be sadly missed by her children, Wendy Taylor (Terry), and Ricci (Sandra) of Salisbury; grandchildren, Katie, Becky, Jenna, Alyson and Caleb. She is also survived by Connie Keating (Ricky) of Upper Coverdale, who she regarded as a daughter, and their sons Lucas and Markus; a beloved brother Fred (Spike) Blakney (Joan) of Salisbury; a nephew Trent Blakney (Nancy) and their sons, Rylan and Braden of Salisbury West; a niece, Heather Blakney of Calgary; a special friend for over 46 years, George Hurrie; and many good friends. Resting at the Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) with visiting hours Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Funeral will be held from the Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Kathy Zwicker officiating. Interment will be at Five Points Cemetery. If so desired memorials to the Salisbury United Church or a local charity of choice would be appreciated by the family. www.keirsteads.ca
