Francis "Red" Xavier Westfall July 15, 1923 - October 08, 2004 Westfall, "Red" Francis Xavier Peacefully on Friday October 8, 2004 at Met Hospital with his daughter by his side, at the age of 81. In the 60's, Rollin' Red was a stock car announcer and driver at Checker Flag Raceway. In the 70's he was a professional clown and animal trainer. Known as "DUDE The Cowboy Clown" he performed on CKLW's 'Bozo the Clown' with Buffy the World Famous Clown Dog and at Boblo Island Zoo with Sonny the Chimpanzee. In the 80's, Francis was Colour Guard Commander and a lifetime member of The Royal Canadian Legion, RCL Branch 143. He also celebrated 41 years "One Day At A Time!" Of all his endeavours he was most proud of being a Buddy Ball Umpire for physically and mentally challenged children. Red always had a special place in his heart for kids. Beloved husband of the late Enis "Ann" Westfall (nee Bastianon). Dear Dad to Darlene. Cherished "Papa" of Rachel Enis. Loving brother to only sister Lorraine Mercer. Brother to John, James and Robert (Laura) Westfall. Predeceased by brothers Orville, Stanley and Basil. Survived by cousins, many nieces and nephews, family friends, staff and new friends at Malden Park especially Germaine Goudreau. Blessings and thank you to caregivers Joyce, Maya and Domenic. Life long friend to Johnny Banks. Visitation at the Janisse Brothers-Marcotte Funeral Home, 1139 Ouellette Avenue on Monday from 7-9pm and again on Tuesday from 3-5pm and 6-9pm. RCL Service will be held Tuesday at 7pm. Parish prayers will be said Tuesday at 7:30pm. Visitation will continue on Wednesday October 13 at 2:00pm at St. Alphonsus Church until Mass time at 2:30pm. Interment at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Memorial donations to Parkinsons Foundation and Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated by the family. A tree will be planted in memory of Francis in the Janisse Bros-Marcotte Memorial Forest. A dedication ceremony will be held September 2005.
