Mr. Darryl Dennis Won August 07, 1965 - October 08, 2004 Funeral arrangements by Richmond Funeral Home Passed away peacefully on October 8th, 2004 at St. Paul's Hospital. Darryl was born on August 27, 1965 in Duncan, B.C. He will be lovingly remembered by his mother Helen; father Frank; brother Steve (Vanessa). Darryl grew up in Duncan and after graduating from Malaspina College with a certificate in cooking, he began his career in the food services industry. Darryl became a red sealed chef and worked in Victoria, Ashcroft, Whistler and finally in Vancouver. He enjoyed fishing in any lake or stream he could find, playing or watching many different sports, visiting with his close friends and going back to Duncan to visit his family as often as he could. Darryl was a huge sports enthusiast and was always a Canucks and BC Lions fan. Darryl's career was tragically cut short by an auto accident in 1990 that left him a quadriplegic. After his rehabilitation, he began living at the Creekview Co-Op Housing in 1991. Darryl became the resident food exprert and helped to keep the house well stocked with groceries and the homemakers busy with food preparation tips. He was able to maintain a lively atmosphere with the staff and he always had a smile on his face. Darryl will be remembered for his great love of food, enthusiasm for sports and his tremendously positive outlook on life. The family would like to thank Randy and Norma Jean Phillips for their support and assistance through the years as well as the staff at Creekview that assisted Darryl in living as independently as he could. In addition we would like to thank Geoffrey Howes for organizing the Fantasy Food benefit and his continued support of Darryl. At Darryl's request, there will be no service. If friends desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Darryl's name to St. Paul's Hospital.
