VILLELLA, Francesco - July 7, 1923 - June 16, 2008 With sadness in our hearts, after a brief illness, we announce the passing of our much loved and adored patriarch, Frank Villella. Cherished husband of Giovannina (Fragiacomo) for 62 years. Father of Rosella and Gene Auger, Emily and Andrew Gillan, Marina Villella, Frank Jr. and Nadia Villella and Sandra Villella-Carter. Grandfather of Diana and Tom Handley, Debora and John Graovaz, Daniel and Jamie, Travis and Tiffany, Talia, Evan, Rhiannon. Great grandfather of Cole, Brett, Riley, Johnny, Nicholas, Lauren and Alijah. Also survived by a large extended family in Canada, U.S.A. and Italy. Frank came to Canada in 1951 from Calabria, Italy. He served as Military Carabinieri in WWII, Sicily. He retired in 1987 from the Ontario Paper Mill and was an active member of the Associazione Nazionale Carabinieri, Toronto, Canada. Frank was a man of great passion for his family, always guiding them in life journeys. He was a faithful gardener, providing his loved ones with the bountiful fruits of his labour. He was a strong and proud man who loved soccer, playing his accordion, Italian opera, picnics at Queenston Heights, Long Beach and Club Roma. Above all, Frank was totally dedicated to the regular family festivities on Sundays, enriching all our lives. The family would like to thank Dr.'s Tony H. Yu, Simon Kim, M. Samosh and the Palliative Staff and nurses at the St. Catharines General Hospital for their compassionate care. “An island shall you be in our seas, a light in our nights, an oasis in our deserts”. Frank's family will receive family and friends at the LAMB-BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME, 2 Regent St., Thorold on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 21 Queen St. S., Thorold on Friday at 11 a.m. The Rite of Committal to follow at Lakeview Cemetery Mausoleum, Thorold.
