Charles Craig MacDonald June 11, 1945 - October 22, 2004 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Halifax) MacDONALD, Charles Craig - 86, Halifax, died October 22, 2004, in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII. He was a son of the late James and Mary (Craig) MacDonald. He was a lifelong resident of Halifax, living for 49 years on Balmoral Road, and was a summer resident of Meisner's Point for 34 years. He attended Halifax Academy. He was a master plumber and mechanical contractor, establishing C.C. MacDonald Ltd. in 1946, retiring in 1984. He was a past president of the Construction Association of Nova Scotia, a member of the Halifax Board of Trade, long-time member of the Halifax Executive Association, trustee of the pension plan for local 56, longtime member of Fort Massey United Church, as a trustee, elder and board member. He was a member of Athol Lodge No. 15, North British Society, longtime member of Ashburn and Chester Golf and Country Clubs and a longtime participant with the annual Maritime Seniors Golf Association. He is survived by wife, Barbara (Day); son, Craig; daughter, Carol (William) Haryett; grandchildren, Colin and Kevin MacDonald, Stevie and Connor Haryett. He was predeceased by brothers, George, John, James; sisters, Dorothy (Mrs. Robert M. Simpson), Margaret (Mrs. Gerald P. McDonald). Visitation will be Monday, October 25, from 7-9 p.m. in Atlantic Funeral Home, Bayers Road, Halifax. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 26, at 2 p.m. in Fort Massey United Church, Rev. Trent Cleveland Thompson officiating. Following reception in the church hall, private family burial will take place in Camp Hill Cemetery. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to Fort Massey United Church Memorial Fund or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
