Ruth Miller Sandy (née Homer) September 13, 1926 - October 22, 2004 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Dartmouth) SANDY, Ruth Miller - 78, Waverley, passed away peacefully Friday, October 22, 2004, at home surrounded by her loving family. Born October 13, 1926, in Glasgow, Scotland, she was the eldest daughter of the late Charles and Jean (Hay) Homer. Ruth worked as receptionist for Dr. David Campbell, Optometrist, Dartmouth for 19 years. Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Frederick Arthur; daughter, Jean (Donald) Day, Waverley; son, Gerald Himelman, Dartmouth; grandchildren, Denise, Devon, Berin, Brad; much loved great-granddaughter, Morgan; stepdaughter, Yvonne (Brian) Morgan, Bridgewater; stepgrandchildren, Dee Ann, Stacey, Trevor; stepgreat-grandchildren, Alexandra, Evan, Zachary, Dante; brother, Charles Homer; several nieces, nephews and cousins in Scotland. She was predeceased by sister, June Homer; brother, Jim Homer; stepsisters, Jean MacCormack and Margaret Pickering. Arrangements have been entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth, from where the funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Rev. Arthur Snow officiating. Interment in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. Reception to follow in Atlantic Funeral Home Family Reception Centre. Family flowers only.
