Douglas Patrick Joseph Walker October 23, 1931 - October 26, 2004 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Halifax) WALKER, Douglas Patrick Joseph - 73, Halifax. It is with great sadness that the family announce the death of Douglas "Curly", which occurred on October 26, 2004, in the Palliative Care Unit, VG Site, QEII. Born in Halifax, on October 23, 1931, he was a son of the late Maude (Connors) Walker. He played in various bands in the Halifax area. Douglas drove for Walter Callow Wheelchair Bus for several years, and drove trucks for many years for Eastern Transport/CN Route Canada. After his retirement, he went on to drive taxi for Y Taxi, retiring again due to ill health. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marilyn "Mickey" (Swinemar) Walker, formerly of Western Shore; daughters, Pamela McRae (Scott), Halifax; Crystal Frampton (Clyde), Mississauga; sons, Thomas (Bev), Halifax; Barry (Darlene), Halifax; grandchild, Brea, Halifax; many nieces and nephews; sisters, Marie Flynn, Helen Brown (Edward); brother, Ronald Walker (Joan), all of Halifax. Douglas was predeceased by sons, John and Michael; brother, Kenneth; sister, Vivian. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, October 29, in Oakridge Memory Gardens Chapel, onsite at Oakridge Memory Gardens Cemetery, Old Sackville Road, Lower Sackville.
