FAWTHROP, Melba Ruth Suddenly on Monday evening, September 20, 2004; in her 91st year. Melba was the beloved wife of Gordon, her husband of 65 years. She is predeceased by her parents Albert and Ida Emma Tilton (nee Howard) and by her brother Ralph “Tally” Tilton. She will be missed and lovingly remembered by her two daughters and their families; Heather Smith (David) of Calgary and Margaret Gallinger (Bruce) of Niagara on the Lake. She was a dear grandmother to Nancy Stalker (George), Gordon Smith and Stacey DeSantis (Mathew) and a great-grandmother to Emma and Mitchell Stalker. Her presence will be missed within the staff and her “family” at Sandfield Place. Judy Samson has been a treasured companion this past year. Family and friends of Melba are invited to gather at McArthur Bros. & MacNeil Funeral Home & Chapel, 428 Second Street East (932-6300), Sunday afternoon from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
