Doris (McKenzie) Weir 1918-2004 The family announces the death of Doris at South Centennial Manor in Iroquois Falls, at the age of 86 years. She was predeceased by her parents John Dilworth and Annie McKenzie, sisters Susie, Evelyn and Alma, and brothers Oliver and Wray. Beloved wife of Patrick of 55 years, and loving mother of John (Dorothy) of Ottawa; Susan Berlingeri (Don) of Kirkland Lake; Lorne (Carol) of South Porcupine; Roy (friend Carol) of Timmins. Precious Grandmother to Aileen, Collin, Nathan, Jonathan, Adam, Stephen, Angela, Michael, Stuart, Shannon and Rob. Sister-in-law to Teressa McLeod (Bury), Claire and Ray Thibodeau of St. Catharines, Leola Pehlemann of Scotstown, Que. and Ivy Weir of Lennoxville, Que., and Goddaughter to Madonna Richer of Peterborough. Doris taught in Timmins from 1947-1969 and her love of teaching was passed on to her children. She worked with the Hospital Auxiliary in Timmins and was known as the “mitten” knitter by the Sacred Hearth C.W.L. Doris enjoyed playing bridge and being part of the family of the South Centennial Manor in Iroquois Falls. We are grateful to the nurses and staff who provided such loving care, compassion and support, and to Dr. Singh for his loving care. Special gratitude to Sheena from Palliative Care, your care eased the darkness of the nights and gave us courage for the days. In lieu of flowers donations to the charity of your choice or to the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation will be gratefully acknowledged. Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday October 18, 2004 from the Sacred Heart Church. Interment Timmins Memorial Cemetery.
