MISSIAEN, Guy 1951 - 2008 It is with deep sadness that the family of Guy Missiaen announce his passing on July 28, 2008, at the age of 56 after a lengthy illness. Guy is survived by his loving wife, Val; his beloved children Stephen and Theresa; and his granddaughter Carmen, who he adored. He is also survived by his father, Ferd Missiaen and his wife Shirley of Kelowna; his brother Cam (Cathy) of Edmonton, and numerous cousins, stepfamily, and friends. Guy was born and raised in Edmonton before moving to Calgary in 1979 to marry Val, and resided here ever since. Before his illness, Guy worked for fourteen years as a project manager with the Oxford Development Group, and previous to that, he worked for the Nova Corp. of Alberta. Guy worked his way up from a labourer, to a Journeyman bricklayer, and eventually in the construction industry he so loved, to become a supervisor, and then a project manager. Guy was loved by everyone who knew him, he was a kind-hearted and soft-spoken man. He was a wonderful Dad to his kids. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. A Memorial Service will be held at Deer Park United Church, 77 Deer Point Road S.E., Calgary on Friday, August 1, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Donations in memory of Guy may be made to Calgary Health Trust - FMC - Intensive Care Unit, 800, 11012 Macleod Trail S.E., Calgary, AB T2J 6A5.
