Phyllis Eva MANZER

Miss Phyllis Eva Manzer - October 21, 1913 - May 15, 2004 - Passed away Saturday, May 15, 2004. Phyllis was born October 21, 1913 in Silverdale, BC and moved to Duncan in 1929. Having said good bye to her family she left this world surrounded by her best friends. She chose to leave us in a manner that befits her life, “On her own damn time and in her own way”. A fighter all her life she left with no doubt as to who was in control and of course how much she loved us all. She leaves behind a legacy of love and loyality to the Duncan community. A member of the Kings Daughters, the Candy Stripers at CVDH, the International Order of Foresters and of course the Duncan Bowling Lanes which was her second home. Her sister, Marjorie Doney, nephew, Lee Doney both of Duncan, and niece, Deb Davidson would like to thank the community for the outpouring of concern and warmth particularly the staff of the Cowichan District Hospital. A special thank you goes to all of Phyllis’ friends and members of her beloved bowling team, all of whom she lovingly referred to as her “girls”. Her girls never left her side. Please join us in a Remembrance on Sunday, May 30, 2004 at 2pm at Sands Funeral Chapel, 187 Trunk Road, Duncan, BC. Flowers are gratefully declined.
