Terrance Rosemary Gardiner (Terri) - born Feb 5, 1952 in North Battleford, Saskatchewan – passed away peacefully June 5, 2004 at Norwood Capital Health Care Centre in Edmonton Alberta. Terry was the eldest in a family of eight. She grew up in various places around Saskatchewan. Terry was good at gymnastics and enjoyed art and gardening. She took her high school education at Riverside Collegiate in Prince Albert Saskatchewan. She worked as a waitress at various restaurants and as a desk clerk at hotels in Prince Albert and Saskatoon. She met and married her ex-husband, while working in Saskatoon. They lived in Alberta at several locations in and around Edmonton. Her son Cody James was born in 1981. Terry resided in Sherwood Park with her son Cody. In the early 90’s Terry took training with the RCMP and numerous Security Courses. She then began as a Security Officer and worked her way upward to Manager of Security at one of Edmonton’s largest malls. Terry was predeceased by her grandparents Duncan and Rose McKerchar of Lashburn Saskatchewan, and W.A.(Bert) and Mary Gardiner also of Lashburn Saskatchewan, as well as several aunts and uncles. She is survived by her son Cody, her parents Donald and Christine Gardiner of Prince Albert Saskatchewan, and her close friend Don of Calgary. Her brothers and sisters Carol Lynn Harper (Bruce) of Canwood Saskatchewan, Roberta Joanne Everest (Vern) of Macdowall Saskatchewan, Robert James Gardiner of Mannville Alberta, Vivian Lorraine Nordstrom (Greg) of Canwood Saskatchewan, Rick Gardiner (Hope) of Sherwood Park Alberta, Susan Donine Gardiner (Chris) of Acton Ontario, Alan Ian Gardiner of Vegreville Alberta. Several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Terry was a very caring person touching many peoples lives, and she kept her keen sense of humor throughout her courageous struggle with cancer. For the last number of years Terry took a real interest in her Metis Culture and researching her Family Ancestry. She compiled a phenomenal amount of irreplaceable material to be treasured by the family for years to come. The family thanks all the doctors and caring hospital staff that came to know and care for Terry over the last few months. The family is planning a Memorial for early July in Lloydminster Saskatchewan for close friends and family. Terry will be always remembered, and sadly missed by all who knew her. The following poem was Terri’s favorite, and shows her strong belief and faith… PLAN OF THE MASTER WEAVER Our lives are but fine weaving that God and we prepare, Each life becomes a fabric planned and fashioned in his care. We may not always see just how the weaving intertwines, But we must trust the Master’s hand and follow His design, For He can view the pattern from upon the upper side. While we must look from underneath and trust in Him to guide… Sometime a strand of sorrow is added to His plan, And though it’s difficult for us, it’s He who knows what is best, So we must weave in patience and leave Him to the rest… Not till the loom is silent and the shuttles cease to fly Shall God unroll the canvas and explain the reason why… The dark threads are as needed in the weaver’s skilful hand As threads of the gold and silver in the pattern He has planned.
