Herbert Allan Wambolt - September 12, 1918 - June 15, 2004 - 85 yrs, Middle Sackville, passed away June 15, 2004, in the VG Site, QEII, surrounded by his family. He was a son of the late Henry Allan and Beatrice Lillian (Carter) Wambolt. He was a veteran of the Second World War, having served with the Nova Scotia Highlanders in the Liberation of Holland. He was a former member of the Legion, Bedford Branch, a member of Acadian Recreation Club, and a past president and active member of Sackville/Beaver Bank 50 Plus Club. He enjoyed bowling, darts and gardening. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Pauline Florence (Peveril); children, Norma (James) Woods, New Glasgow; Beatrice (James) Fifield, Sackville; Earle (Linda) Wambolt, Sackville; Patty (Francis) Blackburn, Mount Uniacke; Douglas (Kathy) Wambolt, Sackville; Paula (Tony) Johnson, Fall River; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; half-brother, Courtney (Betty) Wambolt, Toronto. He was predeceased by brother, Kenneth (Rowena) Wambolt; sister, Ruth (Lewis) Kehoe; half-sister, Barbara Wambolt. The body is resting in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr., with visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today. Funeral service will be held Friday, June 18, at 11 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, Old Sackville Road, Archdeacon Ron Cutler officiating. Interment in Oakridge Memory Gardens, Old Sackville Road. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and will be greatly missed.
