Alexander Kent Sibley - October 04, 1922 - June 17, 2004 - 82 yrs, Meaghers Grant, died Thursday, June 17, 2004. Born in Meaghers Grant, he was a son of the late George and Barbara (Mosher) Sibley. He was a veteran of the Second World War, receiving the France and Germany Defence Medal and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. He was a member of the Enfield Legion and worked in the metro area as a carpenter for over 25 years. He is survived by sons, Billy (Barb), Thompson, Man.; Andrew (Cindy), Winnipeg, Man.; daughters, Sandra, Edmonton, Alta.; Barb (Curt), Upper Musquodoboit; Susan (Carl), Meaghers Grant; Betty (Doug), Teulon, Man.; Gina, Seaforth; Ruby (Al), Halifax; brother, Bob (Shirley), Brookfield; sisters, Lena, Middle Stewiacke; Joyce, Middle Musquodoboit; Roxie (Neil), Barney's River; Vicky, Musquodoboit Harbour; a large number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his children's mother, Helen Ritchie Phillips Sibley; sons, John and Larry; brothers, Frank and Marshall; sister, Elvie. Visitation will be held Friday, June 25, from 7-9 p.m., with service Saturday, June 26, at 2 p.m., both in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. Burial in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
