Mr. Mohan Singh Gillan - April 11, 1915 - June 21, 2004 - 89 years of age, a highly devout born April 11, 1915 in Punjab, India, passed away peacefully June 21, 2004. He was surrounded and supported by his loving family, including his devoted wife, Dharam Kaur, children; Kuldip, Amarjit (Surinder), Harbjhan, Satwinder (Jagdish) and Mukhtiar (Varinder), Kulwant, twenty-five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Mohan served in the Indian army for 31 courageous years, retiring at the age of 50, leaving at the rank of Subadar Major. After arriving in Canada in 1977, Mohan lived in Fort Nelson and Vancouver, before settling in Duncan in 1997. He will be fondly remembered for the many lives he inspired and the good deeds he performed on this stretch of his journey. Those who are close to him will miss his love, witty sense of humour, as well as his strength and wisdom. We would like to express our sincere thanks to Dr. Griffin and the staff of Cowichan District Hospital for their support and kindness. We wish him love and eternal peace in his next journey as he joins god and his beloved son, (Jujhar Singh) in heaven. A Funeral Service will commence at 11:00 am on Sunday, June 27, 2004 at Sands Funeral Chapel, 187 Trunk Road, Duncan, BC.
