Charles Victor O'Connor, of Hearst ---- Death: June 29th, 2004 ---- The funeral service for lifelong Hearst area resident Charles Victor O'Connor, 75, of rural O'Connor Rd was held July 2, 2004. He died suddenly, June 29th, at the family's Fushimi Provincial Park campsite. Born May 29, 1929 in Hallébourg, he was a Levesque Lumber crane operator/truck unloader until his retirement in 1989. A member of the Hearst Knights of Columbus, he enjoyed fishing, golf, walking, and reading newspapers. As snowbirds, he and wife Jeannine spent summers in Hearst, autumns with family in Callandar and winters in Florida. Predeceased by his parents George and Yugoslave wife Milica (nee Zernic) O'Connor, stepfather Anthony Horchak of Hearst and brother-in-law Gregory Madigan of Callandar, he leaves his wife Jeannine (nee Ruel) O'Connor of Hearst, daughter Peggy-Ann (Marc Bergeron) O'Connor of Callander, and son Daniel (Linda) O'Connor of rural Hallébourg. Also surviving are his sisters Mary Horchak of Guelph and Annie Madigan of Corbeil, as well as granddaughters Jenny-Lee and Tiffany of Hallébourg, and Kaylee and Alexie of Callandar. Rev. Rémi Lessard officiated the service at Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption Cathedral. Interment followed at Monsignor Grenier Cemetery. Funeral director was the Salon Lafrance Funeral Home.
