Edith Slaunwhite (née Slaunwhite) - October 18, 1924 - June 29, 2004 - 79 yrs, Terence Bay, passed away June 29, 2004, in QEII Health Sciences Centre. Born in Terence Bay, she was a daughter of the late Isiah and Quilla (Slaunwhite) Slaunwhite. Edith loved to play bingo, and she enjoyed having her friends over on Saturday nights. Surviving are daughter, Stenna (John); sons, Carl and Darren (Heather); granddaughter, Tanya, who she dearly loved, all of Terence Bay; brother, Carl, Terence Bay; sisters, Evelyn Slaunwhite, Gladys Little, Halifax; Marion Slaunwhite, Terence Bay. She was predeceased by her husband, William Dempsey; brothers, Edward, Allison, Reddy, Corbert; sisters, Monica, May, Geraldine, Ethel and Ressie Slaunwhite, Annie and Lillian Jollimore. Visitation will be held 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd.(Halifax). Funeral service will be held Thursday, July 1, at 11 a.m. in St. Paul's Anglican Church, Terence Bay, Rev. Lisa Vaughn officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Anglican Cemetery, Terence Bay. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
