WALLACE, Kenneth Alfred 1934 - 2008 Mr. Kenneth Alfred Wallace of High River, beloved husband of Sharon Wallace, passed away at 4:00 a.m. on August 10, 2008 at the age of 74 years. Ken was born on the family homestead, Spitzee Ranch, on June 19, 1934 to Andy and Kathleen Wallace and took his schooling in High River and Olds College. He was active in the purebred cattle industry with his father and later on his own until retiring to town in 1990. Ken was a grandson of the noted R.A. Wallace, legislative member N.W.T. and mayor of High River (1910 to 1913). He was active in many community organizations including scouting, the High River Band, Kiwanis (President and Lieutenant Governor), hockey and curling. He also enjoyed outriding for nine years with such noted chuckwagon drivers as L.O. Nelson, Ralph Vigen and Dave Lewis. Ken is survived by his wife Sharon, High River, one son Kenneth (Amber), High River and two daughters, Wendy Lukianchuk (Henry), Edmonton and Sue Fidler (Dave), Kelowna, B.C. and by grandchildren Scott Wallace, Kaleigh and Julie Fidler. He is also survived by Sharon's children Blair Handel (Georgia), Okotoks and Alanna Parker (Jason), New Westminster, B.C. and step-grandchildren Tyler Babkirk (Nicole), Al, Jesse, and Michelle Handel, Zara and Maurice Cruse, great-step-grandson Johnny Babkirk and by sister Donna, Calgary. Following Cremation there will be a Memorial Service at SNODGRASS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 301 Macleod Trail, High River at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 13 with private family Interment of remains at his parents' graveside.
