MENDELSOHN, Betty (nee Benditsky). 1914-2004. Of Montreal and Calgary, passed away peacefully at the Intercare Brentwood Care Centre, Calgary, Alberta, on Sunday, September 19, at the age of ninety. She was predeceased by her husband Harry Mendelsohn, her sisters Lila Solomon and Rose Shapiro, and two brothers Reuben Benzon (Gerry) and Nathan Benditsky. She is survived by her daughters Rolande Parel (Anthony) and Isobel Darinzanco; her grandsons Earl Wyllie (Lesley) and Danny Darinzanco; her granddaughters Tara Wilson Strickland (Peter) and Kamala Parel Nuttall (Evan); her great-grandchildren Rachel, Meagan and Samantha Wyllie, Aiden and Asher Wilson and Caleb and Sasha Nuttall; her brother Sam Benditsky (Linda), her sister May Wax, and numerous nieces and nephews. The memorial service was held in Calgary on September 24 with interment in the Garden of Honour, Queen's Park Cemetery. The Montreal Gazette
