David Arthur John WHITFIELD

WHITFIELD, David Arthur John (Dave) April 11, 1929 - October 2, 2004 At peace, after a long illness at Granite Ridge Long Term Care Facility, Stittsville. His sense of humour and mischief will be deeply missed by his wife Audrey (Cuff); his children Linda, Glen, Janet and her husand John (Luxton); his granddaughter Samantha, his step-children Mike, Brian and Leigh (Fitzpatrick) and their spouses Mary, Lynn and Peter Evans, and by extensive extended family and friends. Predeceased by his first wife Phyllis (Wynn), his parents Beatrice (Gross) and Frederick (F.E.B.) (of Ashbury College), and by his brother Roger. Husband, father, grandfather, friend, colleague, insurance broker, Lisgar alumnus, cricketer, golfer, member of the Congregation of Christ Church, Bells Corners, Dave loved people and he will live on in the memories and hearts of all who knew him, and in the impish grin of his granddaughter, Sam. Deepest thanks to the staff at Granite Ridge Garden House and Harbour House for their compassion and support. Friends may call at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Rd. (between Baseline Rd. and Bayshore Dr.), Nepean on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Celebration of this life will take place at Christ Church, Bells Corners on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Interment Pinecrest Cemetery.
