McLean Mary Della (Dubee) passed away on April 26, 2008 in Kelowna, BC, after a courageous battle with ALS. Mary was born in Head of Millstream, NB on June 8, 1936 to Clement Francis Dubee and Mary Frances North (Cork, Ireland). Mary is survived by her husband David of Kelowna, BC, daughter Lianna Southey (Bob), Marham, Ontario, twin grandchildren: Alexander and Emily, sisters: Therese Whitters (Frank), St. Stephen, NB; Kathleen Sercerchi (David) Lower Sackville, NS; Eileen Fournier (Jim) St. Albert, Alta., many nieces and nephews and cousins. Mary was predeceased by her 5 year old son, John and her parents and infant brother, Ronald. A funeral mass was celebrated on May 3 in Kelowna at Immaculate Conception Church with an honour guard of C.W.L. Members, followed by a reception. A Celebration of Life Mass for Mary is to be held in her hometown of Sussex, NB on Saturday, Sept 13, 2008, 10 am, at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church on Church Ave, with Fr. Peter Bagley as celebrant. Mass will be followed by a graveside service at the Wards Creek Cemetery, where Mary's ashes will be interred beside her son John. A reception will follow immediately at St. Francis Xavier Church Hall on Church Ave. Mary grew up and attended school in Sussex, graduationg in 1954. She was a popular member of the Student Councils and winner of many awards on CYO debating teams. She attended Teachers' College in Fredericton and subsequently taught school in Riverview, NB, before moving to NWT to teach school in Ft. Smith and Hay River schools... she later received her Bachelor of Education Degree from Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, BC. Classmates, school friends, town friends and relatives and anyone who knew Mary, are cordially invited and most welcome to attend this celebration of Mary's life. Friends attending the reception are invited to share their memories of Mary. A slide presentation of Mary's life will be shown at the reception with a luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the ALS Society (Lou Gehrig's Disease) of New Brunswick or a Charity of one's choice.
