WARNOCK, Jessie Ruth passed away peacefully at her residence on September 6, 2008. Born in 1915 in Saint John, N.B., to Walter & Jenny Colwell, she was educated at Saint John High School, graduating with distinction, and later attended Saint John Vocational School for business training. She returned to the workforce after raising her children and was employed by the DVA in Saint John. After relocating to Fredericton with her husband she worked for Old Age Security in the Federal Government. Her selfless, beautiful spirit revealed itself in her love for others. She was always cooking, knitting, sewing or crocheting for family, friends or those in need- an outreach she continued to do all her life. She was a long time active member of the Wilmot United Church Morning Out Quilters and Seniors Group. Jessie was an avid gardener and had a youthful enthusiasm for swimming, dancing and took up golf at the age of 60. She was also a bridge and cribbage enthusiast. She took tremendous pride in her family and believed them to be her greatest accomplishment in life. Jessie was predeceased by her loving husband of 64 years, Rupert Warnock, who was also her best friend.. She will be deeply missed by her children: Harris (Carol), Priddis Alberta, Elaine Kelly, Riverview N.B., Brian (Wanda), Wickenburg Arizona, Anne Marie (Blaine) Atkinson, Prince William, N.B. and their families. She was a loving and devoted grandmother to Kim Champagne (Manitoba), Dr. Brent Steele (Ontario), Kent and Greg Warnock (Alberta), Dr. Marcia Benjamin (Ontario), Krista Carman (Arizona), Geoff and Jonathan Atkinson (Fredericton) and 12 great grandchildren. The family wishes to thank Dr.Tom Barry for his long time support and care of our mother, and the compassionate staff of Windsor Court Retirement Residence, where Jessie resided for the past 6 years. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 13th at 11 a.m. at the Wilmot United Church, Fredericton followed by a reception in the church parlour. A private family interment will follow the service.
