COBURN, JAMES CLAUDE It is with great and deep sadness, the family announces the passing of James Claude Coburn of Harvey, N.B. on Thursday, September 4, 2008 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born in Harvey on January 31, 1926, he was the son of the late Roy and Lila (Little) Coburn. James is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Berneice (Crowley) Coburn; two daughters, Sherry Johnston (Darren) and Corine Lister (Rob), both of Harvey; two sons, Brian Coburn of Miramichi and Richard Coburn (Cindy) of Abbotsford, B.C.; 13 grandchildren, Tonya, Kim, Natalie, Melissa, Aaron, Alexis, Wes, Jordan, Matthew, Taylor, Stephen, Breanna and Kyra; a special family member, Kerry; two sisters, Althea Jones and Margaret Wood, both of Harvey; one brother, Guy Coburn (Vi) of Peterbourgh ON; a sister-in-law, Betty Coburn of Fredericton; a brother-in-law, Raymond Mersereau (Shirley) of Harvey. James will also be missed by several nieces and nephews, cousins and numerous friends. In addition to his parents, James was predeceased by two infants, Catherine and Kevin; a sister, Shirley Mersereau; a brother, Arnold Coburn; two brothers-in-law, Wilbur Jones and George Wood. James was employed with the CPR for 44 years. He also delivered milk from the producers in Harvey to Baxter's Dairy in Saint John. He provided custodial duties for a number of years at the church. James was a member of Cherry Mountain Masonic Lodge No. 50 for over 58 years. Visiting hours will be held at St. Andrews United Church, 2350 Route 3, Harvey, on Sunday, September 7 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Masonic service will be held on Sunday, September 7 at 6:30 pm. The funeral service will be held on Monday, September 8 at the church at 3 pm with Rev. Kay Clowater officiating. Interment will be at the Harvey Settlement Cemetery. Reception to follow at the Church C.E. Centre. Pallbearers will be grandson, Jordan Coburn; nephews, Danny Coburn, Kevin Hurley, Peter Wood, Allison Wood and Edwin Coburn. Arrangements are in the care of Swan Funeral Home, Harvey Station, NB.
