DEVRIES, Michael "Mike" Formerly of Pointe Gatineau, Quebec Peacefully at his residence on Wednesday, October 6th, 2004 at the age of 41 years. Best friend and darling devoted husband of Brenda Devries (nee Pilon). Very loved Dad and Step Dad of our 4 daughters and 2 sons, Kim Valentine (Phil Jensen) of Stittsville, Melissa of Masson, Matthew of Kemptville, Emily and Amanda Valentine, and Nicholas (Mike's 'Little Buddy') all at home. Predeceased by his very loved and missed Mom Catharine Devries. He leaves behind his very special and loved Dad Robert (Bob) Devries of Pointe Gatineau, Quebec. Cherished son-in-law of Susan and Stanley Cheslock of Poltimore. Dearest and youngest brother of Vic (Joanne) of Aylmer, Ann (Conrad) of Ottawa, Linda (Roger) of Montreal, Bobby (Ana) of Aylmer and Carolyn (Jacques) of Pointe Gatineau. Mike was a long time loyal employee of Midas Bells Corners. He was respected and liked by everyone blessed to know him. Special friends will always be remembered for being there for Mike, Phil Valentine, Bryan McNicholas, Lee Gardner, Edna Picard, and many more. Thank you to Smart Technologies and the caring people who work there, Hilary, Janet, Ed and Bryan and others. In lieu of flowers please live each day as if it were your last. Live your dreams.don't only daydream them for the future. If you see a classic car always remember Mike's passion and love for them. I will make his dream and plan come true for his 55 Chevy and 70 Chevelle. We love you my darling best friend Mike. Friends may call at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean (between Bayshore Dr. and Baseline Rd.) on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at Britannia United Church, 985 Pinecrest Road, Ottawa at 2 p.m. Finally special thanks to Bryan McNicholas and Phil Valentine for organizing a 'Celebration of Life' in Mike's honour on Saturday. Mike was so happy on that day to see dear friends and family in a happy celebration. He was so special, and last but not least a sweet thank you to Brendan Human for allowing Mike to keep his dignity and giving him an unconditional friendship they shared without a generation gap.
