McKEE, Oriel Harcourt; (WWII Veteran) - Entered into rest peacefully at Belleville General Hospital, on Thursday September 11th, 2008. Oriel Harcourt McKee of Sunnybrook Retirement Residence in Stirling and formerly of Springbrook, in his 95th year. Son of the late Oriel Foster McKee, and the late Dorothy Blair. Loving husband of the late Ada E. Sinclair (Higgins). Dear father of Roland Harman and wife Joy Marie of Bracebridge, remembered by brothers Stanley (Stan) McKee (Margaret) of Toronto and Gerry McKee and wife Sheila of Ottawa. Predeceased by one sister and 2 brothers. Prior to WWII, Mr. McKee served with the Army Reserve in Toronto and retired with a rank of Warrant Officer. During the war he served in England as a motorcycle instructor and later farmed in Springbrook for over 30 years, raising cattle, until he retired to Stirling. Friends were invited to call at the BELLEVILLE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 68 N. Front Street Belleville (613- 968-5080) on Saturday September 13th 2008 from 1:00pm. until 2:00 p.m. A Funeral Service was held at the Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Murray McKnight officiated. Cremation. A private family interment will take place at Erskine United Cemetery in Pickering at a later date.
