ARMSTRONG, Vivian Irene "Vicki" (nee Chase) Peacefully at home Tuesday October 12, 2004, age 82. Beloved wife of the late Basil William Armstrong. Remembered by her brother Ferdie Chapman. Mother of Laurie-Erin Armstrong, Randy Armstrong and Bonnie (Peter Lucas). Grandmother of Deborah, Laurie-Ann, John, Angela and Melanie. Great grandmother of Jesse, James, Syndie, Alexander, Tristan, Darcy and Noah. She worked 28 years for the Government Unemployment Insurance, Drill Sergeant for the Military, Volunteer for 12 years at the Royal Ottawa Hospital. One of the first women to be a member of the regular membership of the Montgomery Branch Legion. A Celebration of her life will be held Monday at Pinecrest Chapel at 1:00 p.m. followed by interment. Reception to follow at Pinecrest. She was mentally young and full of vitality. Our memories carry the treasures she shared with us. Her words of wisdom for life were: "Age is not a number, it's a state of mind", and she did it all with grace. The Ottawa Citizen
