ADJELEIAN, John. P. Eng., B. Eng., M.Sc., Ph. D (Honorary) Professor Emeritus Carleton University 1923-2004 In hospital on Thursday, October 14, 2004. Dearly loved husband of Elizabeth. Survived by his children: Hasmig, Michael (Debbie), David, Paul (Monica) and cherished grandchildren Nicole, Adrienne, Rachel, Maxine, Raffi, and Jake. Predeceased by his sisters Marian and Grace. He will be remembered by his several nieces and nephews. Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, John received his education at McGill University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 1955, John founded a structural engineering firm which later became known as Adjeleian Allen Rubeli acheiving national and international status. John was recognized for his 40 years of service at the Kiwanis Club of Ottawa. He also served as Chairman of the Civil Engineering Department of Carleton University (1975-1990). John was also a strong supporter of the Armenian Apostolic Church. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, Ottawa on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. and Monday from 5-8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2004 at St. Mark's Anglican Church, 1606 Fisher Avenue, at 11 a.m. Interment Beechwood Cemetery. Special thanks to the caring staff and nurses of the Dialysis Unit at the Ottawa Civic Hospital, and staff at the Ottawa Heart Institute. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario. The Ottawa Citizen
