COWIE, Janet Geraldine (nee Harrington). Quietly, and at peace with her Lord at Knowlton, Quebec, on Sunday, October 17, 2004 after a brief, but difficult illness. Beloved wife of the late Frederick William Cowie and sister "Sue" to the late Conrad and Eric Harrington. She is survived and will be sadly missed by her son Frederick (Ted) Cowie and daughter and son-in-law Joan and Bruce Bostock, all of Toronto. Cherished by her grandchildren Andrew (Australia) and Jennifer Cowie, David, Helen and Conray Rolle (Bahamas) and Willa Bostock, as well as many other family members. A past president of the Junior League of Montreal and very active with the churches of St. James the Apostle in Montreal and St. Paul's in Knowlton, Janet always had a keen interest in the well being of others. She took great pride in her garden and her love of music and her ability to entertain on the piano made her a wonderful hostess, but her greatest love was her family. Private cremation will be on Wednesday and a visitation will be held on Thursday, October 21 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Desourdy & Wilson Funeral Home on the Knowlton Rd. A celebration of Janet's life will be held on Friday, October 22 at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Church, Knowlton. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Paul's or St. James the Apostle Church. The Montreal Gazette
