After the war she and Maxwell lived in Paris for several years before coming to Canada in 1952. After raising her family in Montreal, Daphne and Max retired to London, Ontario in 1978. In 2007 Daphne and Max celebrated their sixty-fifth wedding anniversary. While living in Montreal Daphne had been a member of the IODE. Daphne spent many happy days sketching and painting the countryside around London with professional and amateur artists. She has left her family with a rich legacy of oils and watercolors. In later years she devoted herself to her garden, adding a pond and interesting new beds on an almost yearly basis.
