Aucoin, Wilfrid MSSU, House of Commons (Retired) Past President GCBA It is with overwhelming sadness that the Aucoin family wishes to announce the death of Wilfred Joseph Aucoin, in his 62nd year. Beloved husband of Vicky, and predeceased by his parents, Richard and Lucie Anne Aucoin, brother-in-law Leonard Deveaux & sister-in-law Geraldine, Wilfred was born and raised in Chéticamp, Nova Scotia, but spent the majority of his adult life in Toronto, Wasaga Beach and Orleans, Ontario. Cherished father of Lisa and Richard Aucoin (Chiara Ansell) . Dear brother of Lucy Noel (Pierre) ; Dora Deveaux; Edmond (Claudette) ; Charlie; Marie-Gemma Larade (Andre) ; Esther Cormier (Ernest) ; Marie-Thérèse; and Denise (Carmen Casey) . Wilfred will be greatly missed by sister-in-law Dianne Zahodnik (Mel) , along with many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, friends, neighbours and his ‘coffee club’ buddies. Wilfred will always be remembered for his kind disposition, gentle manner and quiet leadership. A life-long fan of the Montreal Canadiens and an avid crib player - he was a friend to everyone and will be greatly missed by all those who were blessed with his presence. On behalf of the entire family, we would like to extend a special thanks to the incomparable Dr. Therese Hodgson, the excellent nurses of the ORCC chemotherapy unit – even if they are not all Habs fans; the wonderful compassionate nurses on the 6th floor and 7East, as well as all of the dedicated medical staff we have worked with during his courageous eight-year battle. A viewing will take place at Heritage Funeral Home, 2871 St. Joseph Blvd., Orléans, on Wednesday, August 20th from 6-9pm and Thursday August 21st from 9:30-10:30am, with mass to follow at 11:00am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2757 St. Joseph Blvd., Orléans. A private family inurnment will take place in Cheticamp, N. S. over Thanksgiving weekend. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ottawa Hospital Foundation (General Campus) . Condolences and donations may be made at www. heritagefh. ca. (18//08/08)
