DAWSON, Rita (nee Rannala), Passed away after a courageous battle, on Friday, September 10th, 2004 at the Hamilton General Hospital, at the age of 53. Rita is survived by her loving husband Mark. Dear mother of Alena and Tina (Demetri) Chimbos. Lovi ng and special grandmother of Calista Lydia Chimbos. Dear daughter of Robi and Hilja Rannala. Daughter-in-law of Dorothy and John Dawson. Sadly missed by her loving brothers Harry (Karin) Rannala, and Hans Rannala. Dear sister-in-law of Kathy (Mike) Ryckman and John Dawson. Loving aunt of Markus, Katie and Julie Rannala, Luke and Christine Ryckman. Rita is also survived by many, many special friends who have meant the world to her. Rita was predeceased by her special "grandmother' Aino Chambers and dear friend Joanne Walker. Rita's spirit overcame the greatest of obstacles and her life became an inspiration to us all. Through her we have learned selflessness and courage, and now we will carry her wonderful spirit with us forever. Rita's fam ily will receive friends at the NIAGARA-ON-THE-LAKE CHAPEL of MORGAN FUNERAL HOMES, 415 Regent Street, on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place on Monday afternoon at 1:00 o'clock at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church with the Re verend Gord Ford officiating. Rita was a canvasser and volunteer with the Canadian Cancer Society for many years. As an expression of sympathy donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by Rita's family. "Tho I have had to leave you, whom I love, to go along the silent way, grieve not nor speak of me with tears, but laugh and talk of me, as if I were beside you. For who knows but I shall be, oft time! I'd come could I but find the way. And would not tears and griefs be barriers? So, when you hear a word I used to say, or, touch a thing I loved, let not your thoughts of me be sad, for I am loving you just as I always have."
