BRODRICK, Deanie (Geraldine Edythe), Wife of the late John (Jack) Charles Brodrick, passed away peacefully at the Shaver Hospital in St. Catharines in her 89th year on Tuesday, Oct. 19. She is survived by her daughter Kathryn (Robert) Mossman, Durha m Bridge, New Brunswick and grandchildren Jessica, Fernie, B.C. and Jonathan, Toronto as well as two sisters, Shirley (Gordon) Cooper, St. Catharines; and Audrey (Robert) Chisholm, San Francisco. She is also survived by nephew James (Louise) Cooper o f St. Catharines and grand nephew and niece Alexander and Sarah Cooper. Deanie grew up on her parents' farm on Pelham Road in St. Catharines. She was the daughter of Gerald and Kathryn (nee Wessel) Welstead and was predeceased by her three sisters, M argaret (Colin) Campbell, Ottawa; Helen (Carl) Warner, Port Dalhousie; and Mickey (Terry) Fairbrother, St. Catharines. In earlier years Jack and Deanie loved to entertain at their large farmhouse on Third Avenue in Louth Township, where they operated the family fruit farm. As a couple they cherished their homestead, poker club, bridge games and weekends away with friends from Jack's college days at O.A.C. Deanie was a longstanding member of the I.O.D.E. Second Dragoons Chapter where she formed m any lasting friendships and later after the passing of her husband and her move to Towering Heights in St. Catharines, she became an avid duplicate bridge player as a member of the St. Catharines Golf Club. She made several extended holiday trips to the Maritimes to be with her daughter Kathryn and her family in Lunenburg and enjoyed watching her grandchildren, Jessica and Jonathan growing up. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Louth Township.
