Mr. George M. Johnstone February 8, 1948 - October 22, 2008 - Following a brief illness, George Murray Johnstone, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on the 22nd of October, 2008. Born February 8, 1948 in Moncton, he was the son of the late Murray Johnstone of Chatham, NB and May (Larkin) Johnstone of Ireland. As a very talented Musician of many years, he has had the opportunity to work with some of the very best in the industry. Continuing with his music background, he has been a mentor to many new artists and held the position of Vice President of the American Federation of Musicians, Local 815AFM. Known to his friends as Digger, he was associated with high regards during the formation of HOG - Harley Owners Group, Moncton Chapter. George will be sadly missed by his Life - Long Partner, Olive DeRoche; his Step-Daughter Joanne (DeRoche) Goguen and husband Michel; and his grand-children: Keith Hall and wife Lisa, Jean-Paul Goguen and Nicole Goguen. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, October 28, 2008, from 10:00am – 11:00 am at Fair Haven Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel, The Reverend Father Kevin Borthwick officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the New Brunswick Lung Association. Interment in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Fair Haven Funeral Home, 1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton (506) 852-3530.
