Margaret Henriette Beveridge February 1, 1929 - November 1, 2008 - BEVERIDGE, Margaret Henriette (nee Lafferty). On Saturday, November 1, 2008, Margaret passed quietly into the arms of Jesus and the loved ones who passed before her. Her family is saddened but Margaret is free from pain and confusion. Margaret is predeceased by her husband Alexander, her parents Henri and Marie Lafferty, and her siblings Jeanette Lafferty, Alphonse Lafferty, Magloire Lafferty, Annetoinette Gately, and Agatha Kerr. She leaves to mourn her brother Jean Louis (Roseanna) Lafferty, sisters Germaine Muncy, Alida (Eugene) Phaneuf, Celine Aaron, Marie (Don) Tralnberg; Dorothy Cumming and brother-in law Eric Gately. Margaret leaves her children Shirley (Jerry) Hrabia [North Battleford]; Alexander Beveridge [California]; Teresa (Louis) Bomersbach [Regina]; Susan (Doug) Tady [Battleford]; Margaret Beveridge [Saskatoon]; Dorothy (Phil) Guest [Weymouth, U.K.]. She also leaves her grandchildren and great-grandchildren Nick Caudron and son Shea; Alex, Margot and Sam Beveridge; Brody and Ricky Bomersbach; Dustin (Kelly) McLean and son Kian, Drew Tady; and Sarah and Charlie Beveridge. Margaret had many nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved. Margaret was born in Stony Rapids, Saskatchewan February 1, 1929. Her mother Marie (nee Mercredi) was a midwife, organist and was instrumental in having a school built in Stony Rapids. Her father, Henri, was a special constable with the RCMP. Margaret loved the north but left it at an early age due to an injury and tuberculosis. She studied while she recuperated and learned to crochet beautifully. As a young adult she lived in Prince Albert where she met her husband, a Scotsman named Alexander, and raised a family. Margaret was happiest when she could gather the family for a picnic and berry picking in the forest or near the edge of a lake. There were many family outings such as these. The view and sound of moving water always soothed and relaxed her. The family moved to Saskatoon in 1972 and spent many years there. She worked at St. Anne’s Home and Mazenod Residence. She was known for her wonderful culinary skills. The last three years of Margaret’s life were spent in Regina. Margaret may not have fully understood the world around her but she always recognized love and affection. We would like to thank the kind staff and residents of Santa Maria and Pioneer Village for their care and support. A public viewing will take place on Friday, November 7th, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. from Hillcrest Funeral Home (east on 8th Street, turn right before railway crossing). The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 8th, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. from St. Peter The Apostle Roman Catholic Church (1121 Northumberland Avenue, Saskatoon, Sk.) with celebrant Reverend Fr. Patrick Ampani. Rite of Committal will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association (104 – 2301 Avenue C. North, Saskatoon, SK.
