RUSHTON, Louis Peter. Veteran RCAF/RAF WW II, F/L Served in Squadron 296 (RAF) during WW II; flew in North Africa, Italy and France; dropped troop-filled gliders into Normandy in early morning of D-Day. Also, served in NATO in 61 AC & W Squadron (Metz, France) during the Cold War. Peacefully at Perley Rideau Veteran's Health Centre on Saturday, October 30, 2004 at the age of 87 years. Louis Rushton dear husband of the late Eileen O'Brien. Loving father of Pat (Joan), Christopher, Norman, Brian and daughter-in-law Gina. Lovingly remembered by his six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Survived by brothers Paul, Harold and Winston. Predeceased by brother Wilfred and sisters Mary Smith and Margaret Bentley. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. The Family will receive friends at the Chapel of the Perley Rideau Veterans Health Centre, 1750 Russell Rd., on Thursday, November 4, 2004 from 1:00 p.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Beechwood Cemetery.
