ALFONSO, Nicola (Nick). Nicola (Nick) Alfonso was born to Carmela and Guiseppe Alfonso in Providenti, Italy, December 4, 1925. He passed away peacefully at home October 31, 2004 after a lengthly illness. Nick moved to Canada in 1951 and married Elizabeth Teoli in 1954. They had two children. He started his own landscaping contracting business in 1963 and retired in 1986. He moved to Grande Prairie in 1991. Nick will be sadly missed by his loving wife Elizabeth, son Joseph (Michelle), grandchildren Daniella and Rylan, brothers Dominec (Angela) and Tony (Denise). He was predeceased by his sister Rita and his son Peter. Prayer service will be held on Wednesday, November 3 at 7:30 p.m. at Oliver's Grande Prairie Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, November 4 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Grande Prairie, with interment to follow in the Grande Prairie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice. The Montreal Gazette
