Sister Marjory McGuire. C.S.J. (Sister Mary Edwin) Sister Marjory McGuire died in hospital after a brief illness on November 3, 2004. She was in the 57th year of her religious life. Left to mourn her loss are her Sisters in the Congregation, her sister Mary (C.S.J.), her brothers Darcy (Norah), of Richard's Landing, Ontario, James (Helen) of Chapeau Quebec, Denis (Joan) of Pembroke, Donald of Regina, Saskatchewan and sister-in-law Grace of Ottawa, Ontario. Marjory leaves many loving nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and cousins. She was an educator and spent many years as directress of the Teacher's College in Chapeau, Quebec. She is fondly remembered by many friends, students and fellow teachers where she taught in Quyon, Quebec, Mt. St. Patrick and Renfrew. She is remembered too, by a special group of colleagues and friends, her PRH community. For the past four years, Sister was an active and important member of the Leadership Team here in Pembroke for the Sisters of St. Joseph, serving in the capacity of Assistant General Superior. Her expertise, gentle demeanor and sensitivity will be greatly missed. Marjory was born in Allumette Island, Quebec, a daughter of the late Cecil McGuire and Margaret D'Arcy. She is predeceased by her brothers Edwin, Joseph, John and William and by sister-in-law Aline. Visitation at St. Joseph's Motherhouse, Pembroke on Friday, November 5, starting at 3:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 6, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Motherhouse, Pembroke. Interment at St. Columba's Cemetery, Pembroke. Arrangements entrusted to The MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Pembroke. The Ottawa Citizen
