RENNIE, Donald After a courageous battle with heart disease and cancer, Donald passed away April 7th, at his home in Melbourne, Florida. He was 78 years of age. Beloved husband of Barbara. Remembered by Marilyn (McKee). Dear father of Dawne (Andy Blenkarn) of Ottawa, and Sherri (Gary McCabe) of Kingston. Proud grandfather of Cory, Patrick and Michael. Brother of Dorothy and Bob (June) of Cambridge; Madeline (the Rev. David Paterson) of Medicine Hat, Alberta; the Rev. Gerald Rennie (Joyce) of Halton Hills; and the Rev. Dr. Fred Rennie (Johneen) of Cornwall. Predeceased by his parents, James and Lillian Rennie of Cambridge. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. A man of the free spirit, Donald loved horses, and worked much of his life around them as groomsman, trainer, show jumper and owner. For a number of years at his Lochandy Stable he brought developmentally challenged children and horses together as a form of therapy. In his later years he took to painting and fixed through such art his childhood memories of life in Galt in the 1930's and 40's where his father was a resident blacksmith. At his request cremation has taken place, and a celebration in remembrance of Donald's life will follow in Cambridge at a future date. 4/13/2004- ID3754175
