COLLEDANCHISE, Mercurio "Mark" 2009-01-03 COLLEDANCHISE Mercurio "Mark" Colledanchise passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospice on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 with his family by his side after a lengthy, courageous battle with cancer. Born on November 25, 1930 in Toro, Italy, he immigrated to Argentina where he met his wife Giuseppina "Josie" Mendicino and got married on April 9, 1960. In 1966, he immigrated to Thunder Bay with his wife and 3 children. Mark enjoyed all sports but was most passionate about soccer, which he played professionally in Argentina. He also played and coached soccer in Thunder Bay for many years. He spent most of his working career at Lakehead Freightways Ltd. as a tractor-trailer mechanic until his retirement. He was an active member of the Italian Society Principe Di Piemonte (DaVinci Centre). He enjoyed playing bocce with his friends at the DaVinci Centre and St. Dominic’s Church, working out at the Complex and going for walks. He loved his family dinners/barbecues and spending time with his grandchildren. He always looked forward to spending Saturday mornings having coffee and good conversations with his family. He was predeceased by his wife Josie, parents Nicolas and Anna Maria (Parziali), brothers Juan, Miguel and Antonio and sisters Vicenzina and Giuseppina. He will be sadly missed by his children Nick (Nancy), John (Pam), Julia Hoard (Kevin) and grandchildren Brendan, Stefan, Tyler, Kayla and Kali. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives including Evelyn DiCarlo (Mario) and Julia Guarasci (Robert) of Thunder Bay. Funeral Services for the late Mr. Mercurio "Mark" Colledanchise will be held on Monday, January 5, 2009 leaving the Westfort Chapel at 9:30 A.M. to St. Dominic’s R.C. Church for the Funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. celebrated by Fr. Dan Lapolla. Entombment will follow at Our Lady of Charity Mausoleum in St. Andrew’s R. C. Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2009 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with Vigil Prayers being offered at 7:00 P.M. in the Westfort Chapel, 420 West Gore Street at James.
