Born June 14, 1929, in Newfoundland, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth (O'Quinn) McNeil. Doris was a member of St. Andrew's Roman Catholic Church, Eastern Passage. She treasured time spent with her loving family and is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Melvin; children, Brenda (Wayne) Ketching, Orillia, Ont.; Jim (Theresa) White, Dartmouth; Anne (Dan) McCormick, Lower Sackville; Paula (Don)McLellan, Skye Glen; Melvin White (Gloria), Halifax; Theresa (Bruno) Richard, Eastern Passage; Reg (Debbie) White, Greenwood; Lori (Gordie) Hardy, Eastern Passage; Chris (Yvette) White, Dartmouth; Martha White (Ernie), Ottawa; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Martha MacArthur, Pearl Gabriel, Eileen (Melvin) Gabriel, Andrena (Mark) Bennett; brother, Charles McNeil, all of Newfoundland; several nieces and nephews. Arrangements have been entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Andrew's Roman Catholic Church, Eastern Passage, Father Thomas Thekkekara officiating. Interment in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens.
