TURENNE, Valérie (Poulin) - Valérie Turenne passed away after a very brief illness at the Algonquin Nursing Home in Mattawa on Monday, December 29th, 2008 in her 84th year. She was predeceased by her husband Harvé Turenne in 1995. Valérie is survived by her loving children Georges (Jessie) Turenne of North Bay, Céline (Real) Gagnon of North Bay, Carmen (Roger) Boudreau of Mattawa, Gaëtan (Françine) Turenne of St. Eustache, Québec, and Nicole Turenne (Dale Harrison) of Mattawa. She is survived by her grandchildren Tammy Boudreau-Bangs (Sean), Kevin Turenne (Rhondi) and Lisa (Éric) Lavigne, and her great-grandchildren Evan Bangs, Kiersten Turenne and Myles Lavigne. She is also survived by her sisters Alice Martin and Jeanne Labrosse. Predeceased by four sisters and one brother. She will be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews. Family was very important to Mom and some of her happiest times were spent with them. During her time spent at Algonquin Nursing Home she made many friends and enjoyed participating in activities. A special thank you to all the staff at Algonquin Nursing Home for all their care and friendship, also to Dr. Brian Williams for the excellent care provided over the years, Dr. Clint Redhead for his support and guidance, and Dr. Mark Wilkins for his attendance. Visitation will be held at the MARTYN & SLOAN “Mattawa Chapel” on Friday January 2nd, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anne's Parish, Mattawa on Saturday, January 3rd at 11 a.m. A donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Algonquin Nursing Home Life Enrichment Corporation would be gratefully acknowledged.
