ngus Malcolm MacDonald MacDonald, Angus Malcolm passed away peacefully at Westside Care in Westbank, British Columbia, on November 7, 2004 at the age of 93. He was predeceased by Florence, his loving wife of 65 years. Mourning him are his daughter Glenda Malcolm and her husband John Palmer (Kelowna), his two grandsons Howard Malcolm (Calgary) and Mark Malcolm (Summerland) and great grandson Dakota Malcolm (Calgary). Angus has two surviving siblings, Sister Mary Nazareth MacDonald and Reverend Hugh A. MacDonald, both of Antigonish, N.S. and one niece Joyce Norberg (Williams Lake). Angus was born and raised in Inverness, Nova Scotia. He began working underground in a coal mine at a tender age but he left the east before long to travel through Canada and the United States. He met his beloved wife Florence while working in Vancouver, B.C. They made their home in Timmins but moved to the Windsor area when he served in the Air Force during W.W.II. After the war they returned to Timmins where he worked at the McIntyre Mine until retirement in 1975. Angus and Florence were active members of the Church of Nativity and were well known in bridge circles. Angus was a Timmins city councilor for well over a decade beginning in the late 1950’s and all during the 1960’s and he was also active in the Knights of Columbus. Following retirement they moved to Kelowna in 1984 and were members of the Immaculate Conception Church and again — played bridge as often as they could. They spent their last seven years in contentment at Westside Care in Westbank. Funeral arrangements will be completed by Springfield Funeral Home in Kelowna. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Charles Garnier Catholic Church, 3645 Benvoulin Road, Kelowna on Saturday, November 13th, at 10:30 A.M. Donations, in memory of Angus, may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Association, c/o St. Charles Garnier Parish or the Alzheimer Society of BC, 865 Bernard Avenue, Kelowna, BC V1Y 6P6.
