Harvey William Dahms, of Mildmay, passed away at Saugeen Villa Nursing Home, Hanover, on Thursday, January 1, 2009 in his 88th year. Loving father of Carol (Gary) Schneider of Mildmay, Brian (Terry) of Mississauga, Brenda (Peter) Newans of RR 2, Mildmay, Wayne (Liz) of Mildmay, Reg (Fran) Walkerton, Darryl (Annette) of RR 3, Walkerton, Dayle (Paul) Helwig of RR 1, Neustadt and Sherrie (Francis) Kestner of Barrie. Cherished grandfather of 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Ronald Dahms of Walkerton, Laurene Wright of RR 1, Clifford, Helen Haskins of Mildmay, Luella McKee of Walkerton and Rhoda Hughs of Waterloo and brother-in-law of Gladys Dahms of Mildmay and Elaine Dahms of London. Predeceased by his wife Audrey (White), brothers Edgar, Otto, Wellington and Eldon and parents Louis and Amelia (Hunstein) Dahms. Visitation at Cameron Funeral Home, Walkerton on Saturday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm, with R.C. Legion Br. 102 service at 7:30 pm. Funeral Service was held on Sunday, January 4, 2009 at 2 pm at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Mildmay, Pastor Christina Rehkopf officiated. Interment in St. Matthew's Lutheran Cemetery, Mildmay. Pallbearers were Trevor Schneider, Shawn Newans, Colin Schneider, Regan Dahms, David Dahms and Luke Helwig. Flower bearers were Tracy Schneider, Shelley Newans, Michelle Southwell, Vanessa Mazza, Melissa Helwig, Stacey Dahms, Brianna Kestner, Shannon Ewing, Jennifer Dahms and Amanda Dahms. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, St. Matthew's Lutheran Church or Cdn. Diabetes Assoc. would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
