Louise Smith, of Durham, formerly of Hanover, passed away at Rockwood Terrace, Durham on Friday, January 2, 2009. She was 85. Born in Bentinck Township, daughter of the late Norma and Alvina (Monk) Wilken. Survived by husband William Smith, son George and wife Linda of RR 1 Hanover, grandchildren Daniel, Erin, Tyler (Ashley Wilson) and Mark Smith, Tammy (Chris) Klages, Cory (Christelle), Clare (Sarah) and Kelly (Darrell) Dayman; great-grandchildren Anne and Andrew Klages, Branden, Riley and Rebecca Smith, Abigail and Alexander Dayman. Also survived by a sister, Edna and husband Roy Willfang of Hanover, Godchild Grace (Grant) Keller of Kitchener. Predeceased by son Gordon and wife Carol Smith, sisters Dorothy, Mrs. Calvin Smith and Viola, Mrs. Ernie Jones. Visitation was held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover on Sunday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service was held on Monday, January 5, 2009 at 11 am at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Hanover. Rev. Dave Nicholson officiated. Spring interment in Hampden Cemetery, Normanby Township.
